Trace Cyrus hits the studio after Metro Station reunion tease

Metro Station vocalist Trace Cyrus made a post on social media asking fans if they wanted a new album from the band. Is he hinting at a possible reunion? We hope yes.

The year has been filled with reunions, and only three weeks left in 20ninescene, we’re hoping a few more of our favorite acts will announce their comeback.

Metro Station formed in 2006 when Mason Musso and Trace Cyrus met on the set of Disney‘s Hannah Montanawhich their siblings starred in. They soon released “Seventeen Forever” and gained traction on Myspace.

In 2007 they dropped their debut LP, 2008 brought in “Shake It” which peaked at No. 10 on Billboard‘s Hot 100. They later went on to tour with the likes of Hey Monday, Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship and All Time Low, before going on a three-year hiatus.

In 2014, the band reunited and dropped a new single “Love & War.” That same year, they released an EP and went on tour with the Ready Set. 2017 was the year the group celebrated the 10th anniversary of their self-titled album with a tour. According to Music Mayhem, they later announced in a now-deleted Instagram post that it would also be their farewell. Their last release was the Bury Me My Love EP on September 8, 2017

Two years later, it’s 2019, and the band are active on social media once again.

Last month, Metro Station posted an old photo of themselves on Instagram. The shot is a young version with the caption being music notes, question mark, and exclamation point emojis.

When Spotify released the artists’ versions of Spotify Wrapped Cyrus posted a photo of the number of streams and fans the band had this year.

Not bad for not releasing any music or playing any concerts together in over 2 years! Thanks for all the love & support still after all this time! ? Who wants new album 2020!??? ???@metrostationmusic

The singer also posted a boomerang of a shot in the studio on his Instagram story. It looks like Musso is flexing his vocal chords in front of a mic.

While we aren’t certain if/when the band is getting back together, we’re hoping 20ninescene still has some magic left so that they announce a reunion before the year ends.
