Watch this woman “Work It” to Missy Elliott at karaoke

There’s a lot to unpack here in a now viral video of Mary Halsey totally slaying her rendition of “Work It” by Missy Elliott.

The Rhode Island resident and self-proclaimed “Missy’s funky white sister” was just getting down for karaoke night at her local park with her shofar.

Filmed live at Goddard Park in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, there’s makeshift backup dancing, sound effects and voice changes—it all has to be seen to be believed.

Missy Elliott eventually got hold of the video and posted it with a seal of approval.

“I just found out I have a funky white sister, forreal doe [and] she brought her home girl with her from da hood that keep tiptoeing in the background with a plate of food. Yo I’m done! But she straight killed “Work It,” sound effects and all. I love it.”

She also took to Instagram to praise her elephant noises.

MESSAGE? wait I just found out I have a FUNKY WHITE SISTER???? but hold up she brought her homegirl to da cookout too?? she the one tiptoeing in the background with a cup of oodles & noodles in her hand?? Yo sis done made the elephant sound too??? This wasn’t the first time Halsey totally killed her take on the Missy Elliott hit. Earlier today, she shared a video from 8 years ago tackling the same track.

Halsey doesn’t just love Missy Elliott either as the karaoke aficionado has also performed “My Humps” by the Black Eyed Peas.

Basically, she can’t be stopped, and we are so here for it.
