Morrissey really is playing Riot Fest

After famed Chicago festival Riot Fest announced its lineup with Morrissey as a headliner, the Smiths singer immediately disputed the claim on the official Moz fan site, “True To You.”

The site currently only has one post on its home page: “As of this date (May 23), Morrissey is not a part of this year's Chicago Riot Fest.”

But yesterday, he posted again on the site confirming that he will, indeed, be headlining Riot Fest on September 17. AP received a press release corroborating this statement. 

Riot Fest Chicago takes place on September 16-18. We're pouring one out for all the Morrissey fans that sold their tickets already.
