"If I die, then I die"—Morrissey on his recent treatments for cancer

In a recent Spanish-based interview with EL MundoMorrissey divulged that he has recently undergone multiple treatments for cancer. The singer/songwriter disclosed some information on the situation saying, “They have scraped cancerous tissues four times already.” Nonetheless, he seems to be remaining optimistic, “If I die, then I die. And if I don’t, then I don’t. Right now I feel good. I am aware that in some of my recent photos I look somewhat unhealthy, but that’s what illness can do. I’m not going to worry about that, I’ll rest when I’m dead.”

Earlier this year, Morrissey was forced to cancel dates on his two most recent North American tours due to himself and his crew falling ill. Additionally, the vocalist is far from foreign to illness, as he has be diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer, double pneumonia, food poisoning and a respiratory infection, all within the past two years.

Morrissey released his most recent full-length album, World Peace Is None Of Your Business, earlier this year through Capitol Music Group's Harvest Records. He has also been clashing with the label as of late, claiming that he has been dropped, even though “a source close to the situation” reportedly confirmed to Billboard that he still has one more album left in his contract.
