10 songs to clear your mind while taking a walk

Many people have started taking more walks now that most of us are stuck at home due to the coronavirus outbreak. Walking is a great way to leave the house, get some exercise and, most importantly, clear your mind with some relaxing songs.

Because we’re doing a lot of walking, we made a playlist of 10 songs to listen to while walking to clear your mind considering we all could use a little break from reality right now. Check those out below.

Wilco – “Please Be Patient With Me”

This is probably one of the most gentle songs ever that it might put you to sleep if you listen to it when you’re not walking. It’s a great song to zone out to so you can clear your mind.

Bring Me The Horizon – “Drown” (live version)

BMTH took this hardcore track and slowed it way down in a beautiful live rendition that we might actually love more than the original.

Frightened Rabbit featuring Julien Baker – “How It Gets In”

This is a fitting song to listen to if you’re in your feels, as is pretty much anything featuring Julien Baker. However, you really get the best of both artists in this mellow track.

Billie Eilish – “everything i wanted”

There are few things more relaxing than Billie Eilish’s soothing vocals, so you probably should just listen to her entire debut album on one of your future long walks. We picked this track because it’s a good example of how Eilish meshes beauty with darkness.

Linkin Park – “Leave Out All The Rest”

This throwback Linkin Park track embodies everything we love about the band. Even though it’s mellow, it still grabs your attention. It will also probably make you feel like a badass when you’re listening to it while walking around the neighborhood.

Green Day – “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)”

When you put on this song, you might end up contemplating your whole life, but it does sound relaxing. Plus, you can never go wrong listening to Green Day when you’re bored of everything else.

Nirvana – “All Apologies”

The acoustic version of this ’90s grunge track is chill enough to soundtrack your walk. In fact, just go ahead and listen to the entirety of Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged In New York live album. Bonus: If you’re playing this song out loud while walking with your family, it’s a crowd-pleaser.

Slipknot – “Snuff”

The last thing you probably expected when you clicked on a list of chill songs was to see a Slipknot track, but hear us out. While the majority of “Snuff” is pretty mellow, it does build up to a pretty bombastic ending, but it is Slipknot after all.

twenty one pilots – “Car Radio”

You can never go wrong with old twenty one pilots songs, which seem particularly fitting if you’re social distancing in the house you grew up in. There’s something about their old tracks that just fits with suburbia, so it might suit your current vibe.

The 1975 – “I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it”

This mostly instrumental track is large and all-consuming, so it might make you feel like a character in a movie if you listen to it while taking a walk. Honestly, this whole album from the 1975 is pretty chill, so you should give it some love during your next outing.
