8 musicians confess their guilty pleasure songs and artists
The concept of having a musical guilty pleasure doesn’t even exist to some as they shamelessly enjoy listening to whatever they want to and don’t care what anybody else thinks. Others get a bit embarrassed that a certain song hits them in all the right places and will endlessly blush if anyone finds out, especially if they’re in a band who make music that’s a stark contrast to their secret playlist.
We had members of the Faim, Grayscale, Creeper, the Bronx, Neck Deep, Don Broco, Milk Teeth and Municipal Waste confess what their musical guilty pleasure is.

I really like Hilary Duff in the early 2000s, Lizzie McGuire—that vibe 100 percent!
Collin Walsh, GRAYSCALE
Lately I’ve been playing Tim McGraw a lot. I don’t know if I like it; I don’t know if anyone likes it to be honest—I mostly do it to irritate everyone in our band.

I like Enrique Iglesias. He makes me want to dance!
Will Gould, CREEPER
Cyndi Lauper’s She’s So Unusual. I love that record to bits. I listen to it all the time. It’s got a great Prince cover on it, too, “When You Were Mine.”

“Burn” by Usher. I know that start to finish, and anytime that comes on I will happily vibe out to that song. It’s sick!
Rob Damiani, DON BROCO
Mine’s Darude’s “Sandstorm.” It’s classic dance music from my youth. When you’re a kid you’re like, “I’m cool, I’m in my room raving!” I felt a bit guilty listening to it, and it still gives me that feeling now.

I like pop music. I really like the new Selena Gomez song “Bad Liar.” I have that on repeat all the time; it’s as catchy as anything.
Tony Foresta, MUNICIPAL WASTE
Tegan And Sara. I love them. They’re good songwriters. They’re hilarious. When they play live they just make fun of each other!
