My Chemical Romance reunion show combats scalpers with security check

With the My Chemical Romance reunion show selling out ridiculously fast, people were understandably worried about scalpers scooping up tickets to resell but the venue security are putting people through rigorous checks to ensure only fans who bought the tickets through AXS are able to get in.

The venue’s security team has provided an update to fans saying the person who bought tickets must show ID and have their tickets scanned through their AXS account before they enter.

Twitter users are spreading the message that security are taking entry to the venue very seriously tonight.

To make sure people can’t simply sell off their tickets to people outside of the venue, it’s required that people who purchased tickets to the show be present with the person going in and can match the names on their ID to the account. That doesn’t mean the person who bought the tickets needs to go, but they must be there to allow entry.

Unfortunately, this has created a problem for at least one fan who wasn’t allowed in due to the tickets being bought from her parents’ account.

On the bright side, this will stop any tickets from being resold at ridiculous prices.
