More on My Chemical Romance

My Chemical Romance closed out 2019 with their first show in seven years at the Shrine in Los Angeles. The scene staples were set to hit the road beginning in March for a reunion run across the world. However, MCR postponed a few weeks before their next shows due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Originally set to kick off with Download Festival in Melbourne and Sydney followed by other Australia, New Zealand and Japan stops, the Australia fest sparked backlash with their own statement. In it, they cited the cancellation was due to the inability to find a headliner to replace MCR.

Despite promoters hoping the band’s next round of gigs in June would go on as planned in the U.K., MCR postponed their Eden Sessions show and trio of Milton Keynes gigs soon after. The band also pushed their European shows originally scheduled for this summer.

With only their North American dates still planned for 2020, the band finally made the announcement in June that those will also be rescheduled for 2021 along with postponed sets at Riot Fest (who simultaneously released the first wave of their lineup) and Music Midtown.
