Netflix rewrites 'Avengers: Infinity War' description following complaints

Much to the approval of Marvel fans everywhere, Netflix started streaming Avengers: Infinity War on Christmas. While many fans were excited about new title, others took issue with Netflix’s description of the film.

The original synopsis for the film read: “Superheroes amass to stop intergalactic sociopath Thanos from acquiring a full set of Infinity Stones and wiping out half of all life in the universe.”

The main complaint from fans focused on the way the streaming platform described bad-guy Thanos, labeling him an “intergalactic sociopath.”

Many took to Twitter to complain that Thanos was not “sociopath,” and asked Netflix to change the description.

Following the complaints Netflix did update the description, but according to Comicbook.com, only some fans could see the new synopsis: “Invader. Annihilator. So-called savior. As Thanos moves ever closer to omnipotence, the fate of the universe rests with the Avengers.”

That being said, it’s hard to say if “so-called savior” is any better a descriptor.

This wasn’t the only issue fans experienced while trying to watch Infinity War. Expecting the film to have prominence right at the top of their screen, most users had to search around the platform for it.

Plus, when international users went to watch, Netflix explained the film was only available to U.S. subscribers.

Here’s to hoping no more Infinity War issues arise for Netflix!
