Netflix shares spooky first trailer of ‘Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina’
The new series, that comes from the people behind the CW’s hit teen drama, Riverdale arrives Oct. 26 on Netflix. Watch the spooky new trailer below.
The series is based off Archie Comics' Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, but it's set to take on a much darker tone than the upbeat '90s show, Sabrina The Teenage Witch.
According to Nerdist, the show will touch on more darker themes, giving a reimagined look into Sabrina's occult origins, by saying the series “finds Sabrina struggling to reconcile her dual nature (being half-witch and half-mortal) while protecting her family and the world from the forces of evil.”
The new series features Mad Men‘s Kiernan Shipka in the main role, along with Disney star Ross Lynch as the male lead. Wonder Woman‘s Lucy Davis and Lord Of The Rings alum Miranda Otto are set to play the beloved Aunt Hilda and Aunt Zelda, respectively.

We're beyond excited!
Buzzfeed recently shared the descriptions of all of the major characters in the upcoming show, according to information released by Netflix.
As noted from the release, Sabrina Spellman (Shipka) is “an empowered young woman, half-human, half-witch.” She’s “beginning her dark education as a sorceress, even as she tries to maintain a normal life.”
Sabrina’s boyfriend Harvey Kinkle (Lynch) is the “prince charming of this dark fairy tale, Harvey is the son of a coal miner, a dreamboat, and a dreamer, completely unaware of the dark forces conspiring to keep him and Sabrina apart.”
They also described Sabrina's aunts, Hilda Spellman (Davis) and Zelda Spellman (Otto). Hilda has a “motherly nature and warm sense of humor belie a wicked, ghoulish streak,” who’s “as adept at brewing spite jars against her family’s enemies as she is at concocting love potions for the students at Baxter High.”
While Zelda, on the other hand, “believes there is no greater honor than serving the Dark Lord as a member of the Church of Night” and “is the family’s disciplinarian, fiercely protective of Sabrina, and very much Cain to Hilda’s Abel.”
