Netflix cancels Marvel titles ‘Jessica Jones,’ ‘The Punisher’

Bad news for Marvel fans — Netflix has canceled Jessica Jones and The Punisher.

The cancellations are a result of Disney preparing to launch its own streaming service with exclusive content from Marvel.

These two shows were the last Marvel series on the platform.

Jessica Jones will air its third season later this year, which will now be its last. The show, starring Krysten Ritter, does not have a release date yet.

The Punisher dropped its second season last month and the series will not be getting any more episodes.

The cancellations mark the end of the Netflix/Marvel partnership. This information was released on Deadline.

“We are grateful to Marvel for five years of our fruitful partnership,” Netflix said in a statement, “and thank the passionate fans who have followed these series from the beginning.”
