Netflix to premiere original feature films starting October 2015

With popular original series such as Orange Is The New Black, Daredevil and House of Cards, Netflix has made the decision to take the next step—original feature films, starting this October. 

The first film to premiere, titled Beasts Of No Nation directed by Cary Fukunaga, is set to release on October 16 and tells the story of a child soldier taken from his family during a civil war in an African country. The movie will hit select theaters the same day as Netflix to ensure its qualification for industry awards. A photo from the film can be seen below.

Next in line to hit Netflix will be The Ridiculous Six, the first of four Adam Sandler films that will be released. The movie will be available to stream on December 11.

In early 2016, Netflix is set to premiere Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend, a sequel to the 2000 Oscar Winner. Following that, Pee-wee’s Big Holiday will be available in March 2016. 

Netflix also acquired the distribution rights for War Machine, a drama featuring Brad Pitt. The movie will be Netflix's largest investment, paying $60 million for the title, according to TechCrunch
