New Years Day unveil empowering anthem “Shut Up”

While incorporating new and innovative approaches to the genre, frontwoman Ash Costello radiates feelings of women’s empowerment and independence.

““Shut Up” was written in a day, which just doesn’t happen,” Costello says in a story with Blabbermouth. “I was going through some heavy personal stuff, and I was just, ‘Don’t tell me what I want. Shut up and give it to me.’”

You can listen to the brand-new track below.

Additionally, you can listen to “Skeletons,” which was released back in November below.

“I love heavy riffs, I love headbanging, I love jumping,” Costello says about “Skeletons.” “I love heavy riffage, but I just felt like what New Years Day never had was [a] sing-along, fun chorus with a cool tag.”

Unbreakable is due out April 26. You can preorder your copy of it here.

The band will hit the road in April with Ice Nine Kills and From Ashes To New as support on Falling In Reverse’s headliner. Check out the dates below with tickets available here.
