UPDATE: New Found Glory announce 2013 live album, address hiatus rumors

UPDATE: November 29 at 1:52 p.m. EST
New Found Glory have released an official statement regarding the hiatus rumor:

“Hey Everyone, we want to address an interview that misconstrued something that Jordan said and mislead people in thinking we are going on some kind of “hiatus”. What Jordan was trying to say is we won't have an entire new album of originals until 2014 without letting the cat out of the bag about our live album idea with some new songs for next year. Unfortunately the press took that the wrong way or wanted to get some attention and twisted his words around. We love this band more than anything. NFG is proud to have the same members for 15 years now and has never stopped for a “break” and never will! We love our fans and we love our band. Love Us, Hate Us, Never on Hiatus!! Look for some exciting things from NFG in 2013!!! Love Chad, Jordan, Steve, Ian and Cyrus”

New Found Glory's Chad Gilbert announced via Twitter early this morning that NFG will release their first ever live album next year and that it will feature new songs, as well.

The announcement came as the guitarist took to Twitter to refute claims Billboard had made yesterday that the band would go on hiatus following their Sticks And Stones 10-year anniversary tour.

Billboard reported that vocalist Jordan Pundik had said, “…I don't think we'll have anything new out until 2014,” then went on to imply a hiatus.

Gilbert fired back on Twitter:
“Who & why did someone say we are going on hiatus? That's the dumbest rumor I've ever heard! We love what we do. You couldn't pay us to quit! Hiatus is not for NFG. We like playing shows and being a band more than anything. I think what Jordan said was misconstrued! Work your butt off and one butthole adds his own statement to the end of an interview & the world believes it. Jordan never said those words. Anyway! Goodnight world. Glad you know the real deal now! A Hiatus can kiss my A$$!”
