New promo for 'The X-Files' features first footage from new season to air in 2016

One of the greatest television shows of all time returns next year after 13 years off the air. Today, FOX released a 40-second promo spot for their massive 201 Days of The X-Files marathon where they encourage fans (or new viewers) to watch one episode a day leading all the way to the new installment of the cult favorite series, which premieres on January 24, 2016. Apart from the rapid-fire shots from some of the series' best episodes, though, is the exciting reveal of our first look at brand new footage from the upcoming season. Admittedly brief, if you blink you might miss it, but we do get to see Mulder in some kind of warehouse as a blinding, bright light shines in through the windows. We also see the two partners entering a dark home with guns drawn and flashlights beaming in what appears to be an intense investigation.

You can view the quick promo video below, and if you have a streaming service like Netflix or happen to own the beautiful series box set, you can start following along with 201 Days of The X-Files, but make sure to start with 1993's iconic “Pilot.”
