The Air Guitar World Championships are very real, and have been since 1996. With peformers—lovingly referred to as “Airheads”—donning '80s-inspired outfits and taking on stage names like “Hot Lixx,” “Pelvis Fenderbender” and “Nordic Thunder,” one might mistake an air guitar performance for a WWE entrance. However, there's a percentage of the world's population that takes these competitions very seriously. This year's winner for the 20th annual event, which took place in Oulu, Finland on August 28, is Russian contender Kereel “Your Daddy” Blumenkrants, and he recently discussed his big win, the origin of his nickname and the art of “airing” with Huffpost Live in a video interview you can view below.

What does one win in such a competition, you ask? An actual handmade electric guitar of course.
