5 Seconds Of Summer fans are still fighting to have chart ranking corrected
5 Seconds of Summer fans were livid over an error on U.S. Billboard charts after the band’s latest album was ranked low and they’re still pissed that the album isn’t being ranked fairly.
Last week, the band released their fourth album C A L M, and fans are still fighting to see the record make its way to the number one spot.

Yesterday, it was reported that the album ranked No. 62 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S. while snagging the top spot in Australia.
The reasoning may be due to a shipping error, which is why fans are fighting back.
On March 30, the band tweeted that 10,000 copies of their album were sent out early in the U.S. That meant those records were appearing in the previous week’s chart.
“We still wanna make our album chart next week as big as possible and want to thank you all so much,” the post read.

After that, 5SOS fans got #billboardcountthe10k trending on Twitter in reference to the missing 10,000 copies.
They even started an online petition that is right around a newly set goal of 25,000 signatures.
Andy DeLuca, the band’s creative director, also shared the petition on Twitter. Guitarist Michael Clifford’s fiance Crystal Leigh also chimed in.

On the edge of my seat wondering which side of musical history @billboardcharts & @billboard will decide to be on – 5SOS truly earned and deserves their 4th #1 #billboardcountthe10k ?❤️

Now, Billboard is adjusting their chart ranking placing the record at the number two spot. The first spot is still being held as The Weeknd’s After Hours.
In a statement, the band confirm they were just 5000 copies short of number one. You can read their statement below.
This week’s top 5 on the #Billboard200:
1. @theweeknd After Hours (2nd week at No. 1)
2. @5SOS C A L M
3. @LILUZIVERT Eternal Atake
4. @DUALIPA Future Nostalgia (debut)
5. @PearlJam Gigaton (debut)— Billboard Charts (@billboardcharts) April 5, 2020
“C A L M — the acclaimed new album from 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) — debuts at #2 on the Billboard 200 with over 133,000 equivalent album units sold, just 5000 short of the number 1 spot. This was in spite of a clerical shipping error that saw 11,000 CD sales appear in the chart one week early. C A L M lands at #1 on the Top Album Sales chart selling over 113,000 in physical album sales. In addition, the bands fourth studio album took the #1 spot on the charts in Australia and in the UK, where C A L M is the third biggest week one of the year.”
Fans are still pissed about the error and want Billboard to correct their ranking. You can see a collection of their responses below.

As y’all know of there were 10k albums of CALM being shipped early. In many cases this has not happened to 5 Seconds of Summer. Please billboard count it on the charts there was a mistake made that can’t be undone. @billboard @billboardcharts #billboardcountthe10k

You guys need to do the honorary thing and count the 10k sales *mistake* 5 Seconds of Summer CALM album deserves, or half of it, please. @billboard This is compromising their 4th #1 album. One they have earned and worked hard for.
