5 Seconds Of Summer recently announced the North American leg of their No Shame 2020 tour to occur later this fall. “Old Me” is the fourth single from CALM, having previously dropped “Easier,” “Teeth” and “No Shame.”

The video for “Old Me” sees the quartet traveling on a train, interspersed with “footage” both real and fake from their childhoods and iconic moments as a band.

Davis said she was honored to recreate their progress as a band for the new video.

“Working with 5SOS on this special project was so exciting,” said Davis. “I love this band so much and I’m honored that I was able to collaborate with them to showcase their career progression and expansion. I wanted to make sure their experiences were portrayed as authentically as possible so that viewers could see the guys as their truest selves from the beginning of it all up until present day.”

The music video concludes with the group getting off the train for their performance at the Fire Fight Australia benefit concert on Feb 16.

Speaking on the track itself, Luke Hemmings says the track serves as a way for the band to reminisce on growing up and how they helped each other when they first started getting famous.

“‘Old Me’ carries a youthful spirit and follows the narrative of a young persons life growing up, for better or for worse,” he says in a statement. “Every decision we made, whether right or wrong, has led us to the men we are proud to be today. We were thrown into the public eye at a young age and gratefully had each other at a confusing time. Sometimes it’s important we look back in order to appreciate the journey we’ve been on together.”

“Old Me” Lyrics

Shout out to the old me
And everything he showed me
Glad you didn’t listen when the world was trying to slow me
No one could control me
Left my lovers lonely
Had to fuck it up before I really got to know me

Never a night alone
Anywhere you wanna go
Woke up in the morning wearing someone else’s clothes
Pictures in my phone
With people I don’t know
Woke up in the morning how the hell’d I make it home
And they wondered how long I could keep it up
While I wondered if I’d ever, if I’d ever get enough
And I did some shit I never should have done
I would do over now, I’d do it over

Shout out to the old me
And everything you showed me
Glad you didn’t listen when the world was trying to slow me
No one could control me
Left my lovers lonely
Had to fuck it up before I really got to know me
All of the mistakes I made
Whatever the price I paid
Shout out to the old me
And everything he showed me
Had to fuck it up before I let you get to know me

Another round here we go
Going in blow for blow
Look into the mirror take the punches that I throw
I’m constantly reminded of all the compromises by the people from my past who have a hard time letting go
And they wondered how long I could keep it up
While I wondered if I’d ever, if I’d ever get enough
And I did some shit I never should have done
I would do it over now, I’d do it over

Devil at my door
Got me knockin’ knockin’ knockin’ on the other side
Ashes on the floor
But I’m walkin’ walkin’ walkin’ outta here alive
