Even though it wasn’t very loud, A Quiet Place was one of the most memorable movies we saw last year.

A Quiet Place 2, also directed by John Krasinski, was set to hit theaters May 15, 2020. However, the film’s release date has been bumped up two months to March 20, 2020.

Krasinski’s wife, Emily Blunt, will also star in the film for a second time.

Krasinski recently spoke to Business Insider about the film.

“I don’t even see it as a sequel,” he said “Emily (Blunt) actually blew my mind by categorizing it the correct way after I pitched it to her. She said, ‘This isn’t a sequel at all – this is a second book in a series of books. It’s a widening of a world.’ and I thought that’s the best way to look at it. It doesn’t feel like a sequel — it’s a continuation of living in that world.”

“I can’t wait to get in there and keep writing and see what this movie wants to allow itself to be,” he continued. “And that will happen in the script process and the shooting and the editing. But I think what’s cool about the second part of this movie is the same set of rules have to apply. I can’t just introduce a world where you can make a ton of sound, and if I did, there would have to be a reason for it. So it’s figuring out if there are smart and clever ways to do it.”

We’ve known that a sequel has been in the works, but we haven’t been given a ton of information thus far.

Krasinski took to Twitter to tease the forthcoming film and the initial release date.

The first A Quiet Place earned more than $213 million worldwide at the box office, which included $134.8 million in North America. Additionally, Krasinski’s directorial debut also earned a 95 percent “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

According to IMDb, the first film’s synopsis is as follows:

In a post-apocalyptic world, a family is forced to live in silence while hiding from monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing.
