A look back on the guy who tried to scream his way onto 'American Idol'

Later this month, American Idol will launch into its final season. In honor of the show’s cultural significance, it’s only fitting to look back on this audition that took place 10 years ago. Ryan Heart stood in front of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson and tested out his inhales to Silverstein’s “Smashed Into Pieces.” To be succinct, the trio weren’t impressed.
