Since All That Remains’ guitarist, Oli Herbert passed away last year, the band have not yet announced a permanent replacement. However, in an interview with Metal Shop, frontman Phil Labonte suggested that their temporary fill-in Jason Richardson (Born of Osiris and Chelsea Grin) may continue to play with them on forthcoming tour dates.

“Right now he’s just playing the [European] tour,” Labonte says of Richardson. “We haven’t really discussed at length what is gonna happen after the tour and moving forward with All That Remains. So, for right now, he’s filling in. It’s possible that people will see him next year doing some stuff with us in the U.S. and stuff. So we’ll probably discuss a significant future with Jason or what the band wants to do about a permanent replacement probably after the beginning of the year.”

Oli Herbert passed away last October due to accidental drowning in a nearby pond. A toxicology report revealed that the guitarist had unprescribed medications in his body at the time of death. Herbert had been self-medicating manic-depression, according to his wife. It was originally believed that the drugs made Herbert delusional, and thus resulted in an accidental drowning.

However, recently, police have started growing suspicious of the guitarist’s death.

All That Remains recently released their ninth studio album, Victim of the New Disease last November. The album marks the last piece of work Herbert made with the band. You can pick up your copy of it here.
