All Time Low make staying in better with third new song in a week

All Time Low‘s highly-anticipated album Wake Up, Sunshine drops this Friday, April 3. The Baltimore-based pop-punk quartet have been on a spree of releasing tracks leading up to the album and now we have one more. All Time Low finally gave us the title track “Wake Up, Sunshine.”

The first single from the album, “Some Kind Of Disaster,” arrived back in January, followed by “Sleeping In.” Since then, All Time Low have been on a tear dropping “Getaway Green,” “Melancholy Kaleidoscope” and “Trouble Is” leading up to this new song.

The new All Time Low whole album cycle started back in January with  four cryptic teasers spread out over a couple of weeks. That led to the first single “Some Kind Of Disaster.” The release schedule of singles seemed to be going as planned with the quartet dropping “Sleeping In,” and a panda hostage situation leading to “Getaway Green.” The latter was debuted last year at Slam Dunk Festival.

But then coronavirus rocked the industry to its core. All Time Low issued a series of statements to their social media accounts saying from then on, they would be furiously releasing new tracks leading up to Wake Up, Sunshine.

They delivered on that promise dropping “Melancholy Kaleidoscope,” “Trouble Is” and now “Wake Up, Sunshine.”

The title track is exactly the type of rip-roaring, anthemic tune we’ve come to expect from All Time Low. The catchy melody is anchored by an uplifting message of self-love. Check it out below.

“Wake Up, Sunshine” Lyrics

Are you livin’ well?
Are you livin’ well?
Are you livin’ well?
Are you livin’ well?

Alive in the age of outrage and outrageous behavior, they say it’s a calling
Are you livin’ well in a livin’ hell?
So smile for the cameras and say that your life
Ain’t as tame as the ones you’re shit talkin’
Are you livin’ well, are you livin’ well?

Wake up, sunshine
Somebody loves you for yourself
Wake up, sunshine
Somebody loves you, somebody loves you

You’re pissin’ away, every day’s a cliché
And they say if you’re bored then you’re borin’
Are you livin’ well in a livin’ hell?
(Are you livin’ well, are you livin’ well?)
Are you livin’ well, are you livin’ well?

Wake up, sunshine
Somebody loves you for yourself
Wake up, sunshine
Somebody loves you, somebody loves you tonight
Wake up, sunshine
Somebody loves you for yourself
Wake up, sunshine
‘Cause somebody loves you, somebody loves you

Everyone wants to be somebody
I just want you to see how good you are
You don’t have to lean on the crutch of a daydream
To see that you shine like a star

Wake up, sunshine
Somebody loves you for yourself
Wake up, sunshine
Somebody loves you, somebody loves you
Wake up, sunshine
Somebody loves you for yourself
Wake up, sunshine
‘Cause somebody loves you, somebody loves you tonight

Are you livin’ well?
Are you livin’ well?
Are you livin’ well, are you livin’ for yourself?

The record includes collaborations with blackbear and the Band CAMINO. Speaking on the record, vocalist Alex Gaskarth says they went back to basics for Wake Up, Sunshine.

“We got back to how we started,” Alex says. “It had been a long time since the four of us made a record under one roof. That became a central theme. We’ve been a band for 17 years. Everybody brought something to the table. A lot of what you’re hearing came from those magic moments together.”

Jack Barakat then chimed in and agreed. “I think we accomplished something special. By putting our four heads together, we were able to make a classic All Time Low album.”

All Time Low’s new album Wake Up, Sunshine drops on April 3. Preorders are available here. Check out their second most recent single “Trouble Is” while you wait.
