All members of indie band Viola Beach and manager killed in car crash

All four members of British alt-indie band Viola Beach and their manager were killed in a car crash in Stockholm Saturday morning.

The group were headed to a gig in Guildford, England when the vehicle they were traveling in veered off a bridge and into a canal. The 25-foot plunge killed frontman Kris Leonard, guitarist River Reeves, bassist Tomas Lowe, drummer Jack Dakin and their manager Craig Tarry.

According to police, the bridge they were on has a section that periodically rises to allow boats to pass through underneath.

Lights, warning signs and barriers are used to indicate when the road is impassable. “For some reason, the car drove through the barriers and crashed down into the canal,” said inspector Martin Bergholm.

According to BBC, all victims of the tragic crash were between the ages of 20 and 35. Alternative Press sends its deepest condolences to their families, friends and fans.
