AtVenu (via Digital Music News) has released data that breaks down tour merch sales by genre and found that “alternative” and rock music fans buy the most merch. Well, saying they buy the most merch is an understatement; they absolutely kill it, accounting for over 50 percent of merch sales collectively. The company scanned 1,300 different artists in the U.S. to come up with the breakdown.
