‘American Horror Story’ original star reportedly returning in ‘1984’

American Horror Story is in the midst of its ninth season and it looks like a star from the original season may be making an appearance.

Star actor Dylan McDermott has been spotted on set for AHS: 1984 and is likely showing up before the series is done.

This wouldn’t be the first time McDermott returned to the series after starring in the series’ debut. He also appeared in season two as well as last year’s AHS: Apocalypse.

With the sixth episode of the new season airing last night (October 23), that leaves just three episodes for him to appear.

According to Digital Spy, some on-set photos reveal McDermott during the filming of AHS: 1984.

The actor can be seen sporting a thick mustache as well as a pretty standard wig for someone capturing the ’80s look.

While fans are surely happy with the idea of McDermott’s return to the series, another actor has confirmed she won’t be returning. Jessica Lange, who starred in four seasons of the show, said she’s done for good.

Lange was central in Murder House, Asylum, Coven and Freak Show and made an appearance in last year’s Apocalypse.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lange said she doesn’t envision herself returning to the series.

“I don’t think so. I feel like I got the best of it in those first four seasons,” she said. “Great characters. It was exciting to do. I worked with some of my favorite actors but I can’t see that we could ever get back to that.”
