Andy Biersack wins Best Voice for Animals at 2018 Libby Awards

Andy Biersack wins Best Voice for Animals at this year’s 13th annual peta2 Libby Awards, the youth division of PETA recognizing the Black Veil Brides frontman and Sinatra-channeling solo artist alongside other entertainers such as Bella Thorne and Disney Channel star Dove Cameron as influential forces for animal rights in 2018.

Biersack, also known as Andy Black, nabbed the Best Voice for Animals accolade after he invited peta2 along on a recent Black Veil Brides’ tour of the United States to spread the animal rights message and share his vegan journey with fans on social media. (Of course, we’re left wondering if the musician brought along any vegan peanut butter cookies.)

Thorne is bestowed with the Best peta2 Collab award for her challenging anti-SeaWorld ad that shows her regret at appearing in a commercial for the controversial amusement park when she was just a young actress. Cameron gets the Best Celeb Tweet for Animals award after speaking out against bullfighting in a passionate tweet from earlier this year:

“Today’s hottest stars are speaking out against SeaWorld, empowering their fans to go vegan, promoting animal adoption and more,” peta2’s senior director Marta Holmberg explains in a press release. “peta2 is recognizing Andy Biersack, Bella Thorne, Dove Cameron and other celebrities who are making the world a better place for animals.”

Last year’s Libby Awards saw rockers blink-182, Hayley Williams‘ hair product concern Good Dye Young and celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D accept various animal welfare-related honors at peta2’s 12th annual ceremony.
