Angelina Jolie confirms role in 'Maleficent' sequel

Angelina Jolie is going to return to acting for the Maleficent sequel, and we absolutely cannot wait.

Previously, Disney had confirmed that a sequel was in the works, but there was no word from Jolie, who had taken a break from acting since seperating from husband Brad Pitt, as to whether she would return. However, while speaking at the Telluride Film Festival, Deadline reports, Jolie confirmed that she will be returning to acting for the Maleficent sequel. 

“We have been working on the script and this is going to be a really strong sequel,” she said of Maleficent 2. 

“I am now the breadwinner for the family so it’s time,” she continued. 

We can't wait to see Jolie reprise her role as Maleficent!

Maleficent originally hit theaters in May of 2014, and grossed a box office total of over $758 million on a $180 million budget. If you haven't seen the first film yet, watch a trailer for it below:
