There's an app that matches record covers to music on Spotify and it's basically Shazam for album artwork.
Called Record Player, the app was created by designer Patrick Weaver, who calls the project “a record player with computer vision.”
The app uses Google Cloud Vision and Spotify to match the image of an album cover to a record on the streaming service, reports NME.
For it to work, you need to log in to Spotify via the app's website and upload an image, which then will be sent to the Google Vision API. Then, it will guess which album the cover is from and look for results on Spotify.
It seems like a long process, but it takes only a few seconds. Here's a video that shows how it works:
