Arcade Fire's strict dress code for Brooklyn Show gets best reactions online
Arcade Fire have come under controversial debate for their recently announced dress code for their upcoming Everything Now Release Show, set to stream live from Brooklyn Thursday night via Apple Music. The dress code provides strict details on what concert-goers can and cannot wear, as well as a—dare we say it—”phone-free viewing policy.”
See how fans have reacted to such a strict policy below.

Back in 2013, Arcade Fire came under similar scrutiny for asking audience members of their North American arena tour to adhere to a similar policy, although at that time the band stated the dress code was “not super mandatory.” The situation seems all too familiar this time around as BrooklynVegan revealed the following message that was sent to ticket holders:
“PHONE-FREE VIEWING EXPERIENCE:
No cellphones, cameras or recording devices will be allowed at this show. Upon arrival, all phones and smart watches will be secured in Yondr pouches that will be unlocked at the end of the show. Guests maintain possession of their phones throughout the night, and if needed, may access their phones at designated Yondr unlocking stations in the lobby.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Our dress code is HIP & TRENDY as if you are going to a concert or night out with friends! The event is standing-room-only so please plan accordingly. PLEASE DO NOT WEAR shorts, large logos, flip flops, tank tops, crop tops, baseball hats, solid white or red clothing. We reserve the right to deny entry to anyone dressed inappropriately.”
As you can imagine, this policy has caused some highly entertaining tweets to emerge.

Arcade Fire took to Twitter stating they had nothing to do with the dress code restrictions.
If dress code is “hip and trendy”, band members will not be allowed through the door…hip and trendy people will have to play the music
