In Remembrance: DMBQ/Shonen Knife drummer Mana “China” Nishiura

Tragic news from over the weekend: Punknews.org is reporting that Mana “China” Nishiura, drummer of Japanese noise band DMBQ and of cult indie faves Shonen Knife , died on Friday , Nov. 4, due to a three-car accident involving DMBQ's van. The band were on their way to the Brooklyn, New York, stop of their current tour with An Albatross at the time of the accident. The rest of her bandmates were hospitalized, as was tour manager Michelle Cable of Panache Magazine. The remainder of DMBQ's U.S. tourdates have obviously been cancelled.
