THICK Records signs Shock Cinema

THICK Records has announced the newest signing to their stable: Atlanta experimental new-wave quartet Shock Cinema. The band contains ex-members of the Agenda and You Are Jaguar, and will release their debut EP, Amor Y Muerte — complete with remixes from Death From Above 1979, Subtitle, Thunderbirds Are Now!, President (Harris from Q And Not U), and Pretty Girls Make Graves — in Spring 2006.

"I'm totally psyched that Shock Cinema has joined the THICK dysfunctional family," label head Zak Einstein tells AP. "They're a phenomenal band that remind me a bit of X, Television, and/or Sonic Youth with a fresh and modern bend. Talk about bands to watch in 2006!"

Of course, you don't have to wait until 2006 to watch the band; they're on the road all this week, up and down the East Coast. Dates:
