AP Exclusive: Less Than Jake reveal album, tour plans for 2006

Less Than Jake drummer/lyricist/Svengali/caffeine addict/all-around nice guy Vinnie phoned up AP earlier today to give us the scoop about the band's new album, In With The Out Crowd, as well as what their tour plans are for early 2006.

“There’s going to be 13 songs on the record, and there’s going to be either four or five ska songs,” he says, before going on to describe the upcoming disc as “sort of a mixture between [2003's Sire-released] Anthem and [2000's Fat Wreck Chords-released] Borders & Boundaries,” the band's last two studio efforts. Song titles he shared with AP include "Still Life Franchise," "Overrated" and "Fall Apart." In With The Out Crowd has a tentative release date of late March.

The band will wrap recording by this December, and then get in prep-mode for a six-week comprehensive North American tour that will touch down just about everywhere in the U.S. and Canada. Along for the ride on the whole tour are A Wilhelm Scream, Damone and Rock 'N' Roll Soldiers, with Big D And The Kids Table playing select dates. "As soon as we heard [Ruiner], we knew we had to take [A Wilhelm Scream] on tour," Vinnie says. "They're one of my favorite punk bands right now." When asked what his current favorite punk band is, Vinnie replies, "Dillinger Four. I actually asked them to go out on this tour with us, but they couldn't do it!"
