Funeral For A Friend cancel North American tour

U.K. post-hardcore act Funeral For A Friend have announced the cancellation of their impending U.S./Canadian tour, scheduled to begin tomorrow in Ottawa, Ontario. Singer Matt Davies explained the reason for the cancellation on their website:

"Unfortunatly Ryan [the band's drummer] has been ill and needs treatment here in the UK to remedy his illness, this means that we will be unable to play the shows we had in place along the east coast of the USA and Canada this November/ December, we are very, very sorry about this but we want Ryan to get better. We were all looking forward to this tour and meeting up with the friends we have made so far on our trips to the USA but when it comes to situations like this we made a concious decision that Ryan should be allowed to recover. We truly hope that everyone will understand this, we appreciate all of our fans and all of their commitment to us and we promise to come back even stronger in the new year for the Taste of Chaos USA tour.

much love

Main support band for the ill-fated trek, A Static Lullaby, have confirmed the tour's demise, but have announced that they will use their newfound off-time to begin writing their third album. From ASL's website:

" As for now, our plan is to make another record. Yes, you heard correctly boys and girls, A Static Lullaby is returning to Corona, CA and to their home studios to write another album. When it is written, the band will join producer and friend Steve Evetts to make the album. Most of the recording will be done in LA, or so the plan goes at the moment."

If and when the tour is rescheduled, we will bring you those dates.
