Warp Records signs indie supergroup Battles

Long-running indie label Warp Records, home of everyone from Maximo Park to Vincent Gallo, has announced the signing of indie supergroup Battles. The band, consisting of Ian Williams (Don Caballero), John Stanier (Helmet, Tomahawk), Dave Konopka (Lynx) and Tyondai Braxton, formed in 2002, with their most recent release being 2004's B EP on Dim Mak Records. The all-instrumental quartet will release their debut full-length on Warp in mid-2006.

The group currently have one show on the horizon before year's end on Dec. 2 in London, England, as a part of the All Tomorrow's Parties festival. It is assumed the band will resume touring around the release of their currently untitled LP.
