The Slackers to get Peculiar this February

Long-running traditional ska act the Slackers have completed their new album, titled Peculiar. The band's label, Hellcat Records, has confirmed a release date of Feb. 21, 2006, for the album.

For recording, the group returned to Ernesto's, a club in Sittard, Holland, where the band had previously recorded the live disc Live At Ernesto's. After recording the new songs live in front of an audience, the band took the rhythm section tracks from the show and overdubbed vocals, horns and guest spots (including Alex Desert of Hepcat) in both Los Angeles and at ex-Slacker Jeff “King Django” Baker’s New Jersey studio.

The band have a trio of East Coast appearances on their schedule currently; it is expected they will be performing new material at all three shows. Dates:
