Travis Barker remixes new Pharrell single

As if he didn’t have enough on his plate, Blink-182/Transplants/Plus-44 drummer Travis Barker has taken up an umpteenth night job as a remixer for hip-hop kingpin Pharrell Williams.

Williams, one half of producing duo the Neptunes and also a member of collective N.E.R.D., has his solo album, In My Mind, coming out Jan. 24, 2006. The first single off the disc, “Can I Have It Like That,” has been remixed by Barker and is available for streaming in either Windows Media or Real Audio. For comparison purposes, you can hear the original single, featuring Gwen Stefani, in either Windows Media or Real Audio. No word on if this remix will be an official release.

As mentioned above, Barker has been a human dynamo of late: Even though Blink-182 are still on indefinite hiatus, he still spent the summer on the road with Transplants, who released their second album, Haunted Cities, this past July via LaSalle/Atlantic. That band have also seemingly gone on hiatus, canceling their European tour plans earlier this year after completing their stint on Warped Tour. The band were also on the cover of Alternative Press earlier this year.

Plus-44, Barker’s other project alongside Blink bassist Mark Hoppus, are still working on their debut LP, due out sometime in 2006.
