Europe gets screwed, part one: My Morning Jacket cancel Euro tour

Bad news for the citizens of Europe (at least the ones that really groove, man): Southern-rock revivalists My Morning Jacket have been forced to cancel their upcoming European tour, scheduled for Jan-Feb 2006, due to frontman Jim James' ongoing bout with pneumonia. The official statement from the band's website reads as follows:


"The band would like to extend their sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. My Morning Jacket hopes to reschedule the European dates as soon as Jim is fully recovered and able to perform. We thank you for your understanding."


Unfortunately, this also means the band have dropped off their New Years Eve show at Madison Square Garden with fellow SoRoRevs the Black Crowes. No word on a replacement act, but maybe someone should call up the Kings Of Leon and see what they're doing…
