Slowdance signs Intramural (ex-Desaparecidos), the Evening Episode

Portland-based indie label Slowdance Records have announced two new additions to their label. First is Intramural, composted of Desaparecidos/Statistics member Denver Dalley and partner Sam Shacklock. The duo "created a foundation of glitch-pop fuzzy indie instrumentals that they sent off to a slew of talented singers. Confirmed vocalists that appear on the album are members of Men Women & Children, Brand New, The Faint, John Roderick (The Long Winters) and tons more," according to the label. The pair have already posted one track, featuring Judah Nagler of the Velvet Teen, on their MySpace page; their full-length debut is due out in Spring 2006.

The label has also signed female-fronted Sacramento four-piece the Evening Episode. The band, described by the label as " blend[ing] electronic-pop elements with organic instrumentation, a Theremin-playing lead-singer who can actually sing and one amazing live show," have two songs posted on their MySpace page, and will release their debut LP via Slowdance in Summer 2006. The band have one show scheduled before the new year on Dec. 22 at Harlow's in Sacramento; it's presumed you could check out their new material at said performance, if you felt so inclined.
