ZZZZ break up

Polyvinyl Records band ZZZZ have announced they are broken up. This follows the 2004 release of their only full-length, Palm Reader, as well as a split 7-inch with Uz Jsme Doma earlier this year. The band posted the following note on their website, explaining their decision:

"There's no elaborate explanation to our break-up. It's just that we've found ourselves in different places in our lives, and that it makes the most sense for us to move on and remember ZZZZ as it was, a fun quirky little band."

The band's final show was Nov. 29 at Schuba's in Chicago. Each of the members have announced their individual plans for the future, as well: Bassist Ryan Weinstein will continue playing with the Returnables; drummer Greg Sharp is playing in Chin Up Chin Up; keyboardist/vocalist Ellen Bunch has a solo album in the works; and after playing a handful of Sweep The Leg Johnny shows (dates TBA), saxophonist/vocalist Steve Sostak will be moving to Lima, Peru, to become a teacher.
