AP Exclusive: From First To Last tour diary (part three)

One of the most anticipated tours of this fall is the return of From First To Last, and we're so excited about it that we asked FFTL to keep a weekly diary of the experience. Part two is below; you can read part one here and part two here. Enjoy!

Hello music lovers!

This is Travis and I'm reporting in for my weekly tour blog! Last time I wrote for this we were saying goodbye to Blessthefall and Mia Medusa and welcoming Four Year Strong and Pierce The Veil. We had an awesome show in Chicago/Tinley Park at Mojo's. Our friends in Mayday Parade stopped by and played a set right before us and the sold- out show went off without a hitch. We have been getting some pretty sweet gifts from fans; the other day I got some Cheer laundry detergent which was really quite useful as my clothes smelled of 20 sweaty shows.

We have been in Texas for the last few days now. We always have amazing shows here! First, we played Dallas at the Door, then Houston at Java Jazz (which was amazing btw), and rounded it off with another rad set in San Antonio at the White Rabbit. It's been good seeing friends and familiar faces at the shows, and Texas has been singing the new song louder than any other state so far!

While I was in Texas I received some rather shocking news. Chris came to me in the back lounge of our bus and said he had heard that our close friend Casey Calvert in Hawthorne Heights had passed away. I was blown away. Minutes later, HH released a statement about our dear friend's departure.

It wasn't that long ago, maybe five months ago, that I was hanging with Casey laughing and joining arms together on what was pretty much like a comeback tour for our bands. I'll always remember him in his PJs at soundcheck doing shitty nu-metal impressions and cutting up. I'll remember that band wrecking Warped Tour and sounding like a giant on the Fall Out Boy tour we shared with them over a year ago. Casey was always a person full of heart and a good friend throughout these times. I know I speak for my band when I say we will miss him and our deepest sympathies go out to his friends and family, and of course Hawthorne Heights — LOVE YOU DUDES!

Well that's about it, we are having a day off in Dallas right now and we head for the snowy peaks of Colorado and the great salt lakes of Utah — see you at the show!
