The Germs to be inducted into Hollywood''s Rock Walk
LA punk pioneers The Germs will be inducted into Hollywood’s RockWalk on August 20th at noon. The RockWalk is the only sidewalk gallery that exclusively honors musicians that have made a significant impact on the scene. The walk consists of handprints, signatures and pictures of over 100 artists.
Although they only had one studio album, entitled GI, The Germs rapidly gained a following with their rebellious onstage antics and disregard for social rules. Tragically, vocalist Darby Crash committed suicide four days after the Germs’ last performance.
Recently, a film starring Shane West entitledWhat We Do IS Secret, was produced, centering on the life of the Germs. The remaining Germs were so impressed with West that they asked him to join them as vocalist, recreating the band. What We Do Is Secret hits theaters in late august.
