Dischord updates: Edie Sedgwick album on the way; Bluetip, Hoover and Gray Matter reunion shows
Dischord Records has provided an update.
The label will be releasing the next album from Edie Sedgwick, titled Things Are Getting Sinister, in early fall 2008. The album is being released on LP only, though an MP3 download will be supplied with an online purchase. Sedgwick last released Her Love Is Real…But She Is Not in 2005 on Desoto.
Additionally, three label alum will be playing reunion shows.
Post-hardcore punk rockers Bluetip, who featured ex-members of Swiz and released a number of albums from 1995-2002, will be playing alongside the on again / off again Hoover, who last reunited for a European tour in 2004. The two are playing the St. Feliu Festival in Spain later this month.
Gray Matter is the third, a rare Revolution Summer-era act whose existence outlasted the movement itself. The original lineup will perform songs from 1985’s Take It Back EP to commemorate the 15th anniversary of D.C. venue The Black Cat. The show will take place September 12.
