Far to reunite for two shows

1990s post-hardcore rockers Far will be reuniting for a pair of shows in Southern California, though it will be under the curious secret name, Hot Little Pony.

The Sacramento, CA-based band will play October 15 at the Glass House in Pomona and the next day at the Troubadour in Los Angeles.

The band was the first real vehicle for noted singer/songwriter Jonah Matranga, who would later form the short-lived acts New End Original and Gratitude, as well as release a wealth of solo material under the onelinedrawing moniker. Matranga currently records under his standard name.

Far released several full-lengths and EPs during their eight-year course. The last, 1998’s Water & Solutions (Epic), made it into our 10 Most Influential Records of 1998 feature (AP #242).
