Ben Folds Five reunite to perform Reinhold Messner

In news that had this editor squealing like a 13-year-old girl at a Jonas Brothers concert, long-defunct piano-pop trio Ben Folds Five will be reuniting later this month for one show only, as the debut of MySpace’s Front To Back concert series, where artists will be invited to play their most critically acclaimed album from start to finish (or "front to back" — get it?). BF5 will be taking on their 1999 opus The Unauthorized Biography Of Reinhold Messner, best known for spawning the semi-hit "Army," which frontman Ben Folds still plays in concert along with a number of other Messner tracks.

The show will take place on Thursday, Sept. 18, at UNC Memorial Hall in the group’s hometown of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Tickets will go on sale Sept. 8 at noon EST. More details can be seen in the trailer below.
