Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist remixes Lil Wayne; another mix on the way?

Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman was recently responsible for a remix of Lil Wayne‘s popular single from earlier this year, “Lollipop.”

The remix, however, may not be used at all. Also, depending on Weinman’s level of sarcasm, he may also be giving Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., a notoriously terrible guitarist, some lessons.

“That beat got so played and remixed so his record label did not want to put out mine and it get lost,” said Weinman. “They are actually going to send me the [presumably upcoming] Jay-Z / Lil Wayne track way upfront so I should be one of the first remixes of that track, hopefully. They want Lil Wayne to get rock press; he loves rock — Kurt Cobain is his favorite artist.”

Dillinger Escape Plan themselves last issued Ire Works on Relapse in 2007. A reissue of 1998’s Under The Running Board EP is due out on October 14th, with eight live bonus tracks and a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid.”
