Pansy Division to release new album, teaser 7" with Green Day cover

With the release of "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist" in theaters yesterday, it only seems appropriate to post some Pansy Division news.

The long-running queercore act wrapped recording on a new studio album in July. The record will be titled That's So Gay, clock in at 14 songs and 38 minutes and is slated for a March 2009 release on Alternative Tentacles.

The album will be preceded by a teaser 7", Average Men, with the title track on the A Side (also appearing on That's So Gay), and a cover of Green Day's "Coming Clean" on the B Side.

The band is also completing work on the DVD release of a new documentary. They say if done in time, it will be out in March and push That's So Gay's release to May. The film is currently making the festival circuit rounds, with a showing this past Monday at the Southwest Gay & Lesbian Film Festival in Albuquerque, NM.

Pansy Division documentary showings:
Washington, DC — Thursday, October 23, 2008 – Reel Affirmations
Seattle, WA – Friday, October 24 – Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival
