Cobra Starship working on next album

Cobra Starship have begun recording the followup to 2007's Viva La Cobra!.

The band has recorded mostly instrumental work, produced by S*A*M & SLUGGO, the duo responsible for 2006's While The City Sleeps, We Rule The Streets. Fifteen or 16 songs will be recorded in all, with 11 expected to make the album.

"It's still very dancey but also very poppy," said guitarist Ryland Blackington. "We're using a lot of synthesizers and a lot of different electronic elements we haven't used before."

Frontman Gabe Saporta will complete vocal work some time after the band's current headlining tour with Forever The Sickest Kids.

The as-yet-untitled album will imaginably be out in 2009 on Decaydance / Fueled By Ramen.
