The Get Up Kids plan Something To Write Home About reissue; play it in its entirety

The Get Up Kids will be releasing a 10th anniversary edition of Something To Write Home About on Vagrant in Spring 2009. The release will contain a bonus DVD, photo book and more.

The band played their reunion show last night in Lawrence, KS, as planned, but as an added bonus played Something To Write Home About in its entirety. The band have posted a wealth of videos from the show on their MySpace page, a few of which we’ve reposted below–"Ten Minutes," "Out Of Reach" and a portion of "Holiday."

“We all had a really good time playing together this weekend and really, that’s the most important part for me,” said vocalist/guitarist Matt Pryor. “We decided to play the Record Bar show as a test to see if we wanted to play together next year for the anniversary of the record."

As rumors have continued to fly and the quote on the band’s MySpace page says "See you in 2009," it seems as though the band will indeed tour next year.

One can only speculate that between this reunion performance and the recent announcement of Jimmy Eat World’s Clarity x 10 Tour, the Get Up Kids will also decide to bring this idea out on the road.
