Scouts Honor breaking up
Scouts Honor founder Jared Grabb has announced his intention to break up the band after one last tour in March 2009, which will involve an appearance at SXSW.
"In recent months, our drummer David returned to Arkansas for family reasons," explains Grabb, "[and] has decided to return to college, keeping him in Arkansas until 2010. Our bassist Erny is focusing more and more on his career. I no longer have an interest in teaching new members to play old songs. It just doesn’t seem like Scouts Honor is a good use of my time anymore."
The Chicago folk/blues/etc.-punks were writing for their third album when Grabb made the decision. Consequently, they will record one final EP during the aforementioned tour, which will be released posthumously.
The band amassed quite a discography otherwise in their career, including their two full-lengths, 2006’s I Am The Dust on No Idea and 2005’s Thoughts In Gasoline on Thinker Thought.
