Metallica, Run-D.M.C., more to be inducted into Rock Hall

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame has announced its Class Of 2009: On April 4, Metallica, Jeff Beck, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Run-D.M.C., Bobby Womack, Wanda Jackson, Bill Black, DJ Fontana and Spooner Oldham will all be officially inducted into the Rock Hall.

"These artists demonstrate the rich diversity of rock and roll itself. We are proud to honor these artists and celebrate their contribution to rock and roll’s place in our culture," said Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation President and C.E.O., Joel Peresman.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s nominating committee, which consists of 600 handpicked industry figures, selected the acts. Artists are eligible for inclusion in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after their first recording is released.
